The End of Summer – and September Ahead

Date Published 23 August 2026

As the summer holidays draw to a close, the Bath property market is beginning to pick up again.

August is traditionally quieter, with buyers and sellers away and families enjoying the school holidays. This year has been no different, but the market certainly hasn't stopped. We've continued to agree sales, carry out valuations and prepare some fantastic new homes ready for September.

The market remains price-sensitive. Buyers are doing their homework and homes that are sensibly priced, beautifully presented and properly marketed are still attracting strong interest.

Alex Bowater of Strattons & Partners says:

'August is always a slightly slower month, but we're feeling positive about the autumn. We've got some brilliant properties coming to the market and we're seeing buyers starting to return. It's not a market where you can simply name your price, but good houses at the right price are selling – and September is traditionally a great month to launch.'

We're open this Bank Holiday

Strattons & Partners will be open this Bank Holiday Monday.

A long weekend can be a great opportunity to view properties or simply have a conversation about your plans. If you're considering selling this autumn, now is a good time to start preparing – even if you're not quite ready to launch.

Summer might nearly be over, but one of the busiest periods of the Bath property year is about to begin.
